I’m so frustrated

No not that way! Why? Because I paid loads to train in one profession and am still in debts as a result and that profession is now over subscribed and I am being looked over in favour of applicants who are much younger. I’ve decided to become self employed and the costs of setting up are far more than I anticipated. Rant over, have to move with it I know but still feel the need to let off steam.

do you have experiance in your chosen field? if not maybe try to get a placement or something at a company a couple of days a week.

as for starting a business, i know its tough, ive started 2. you need a good solid business plan, factor in everything and dont throw good money after bad.

I’ve been self employed before and know I can make a return on it but the ‘glamour’ of what we in the UK call PAYE i.e. pay as you earn, where your state and additional pension is provided for with another additional pension and paid holidays and sickness. All those perks.

Being self employed is so lonely and I wanted the security of a job with an employer.

yeah thats exactly why i got a ‘proper job’ self employed is very lonely and the tax returns are hell. but there is no job security with an employer these days. is there no other field you could do? or possibilities of moving abroad?

Nar, I’ve sxplored all that. I want to be doing something other than just looking for a job with an employer but hate the fact that you have to invest in self employment. Everything is so difficult these days and yes employment with an employer isn’t secure either.
