Yes, I definatly believe that help.com is like a big family. You guys all feel like my family anyway. I can come to this site and ask a question or just vent and I know that someone will help me out or just listen to me. I talk to you guys on here sometimes more than I do my own family (but thats just cause they are so far away). Yes, we do have some arguments on here, we have tears, and laughter too. I wouldn’t want to give up my help.com family for anything in the world. You guys are great!!!

I have been following your posts with interest. I have something called emphasemia. Got to go for some tests soon. They keep putting back, but one day I’ll get there. It is progresive and I sometimes get concerned about it. So I can to a certain extent understand your anxiety about your dad. I do hope that the treatments he gets will sort his illness out.

I am doing much better today. My gram is getting better everyday. I am on my way out to see her now. She is now eating solid food and is working with her PT to get her strength back. I can’t wait until they move her to a regular floor. I know she’ll be much happier. I spent some time with my mom, my sister and brother last night. The four of us have not gone out together for a very long time and I will tell you I had so much fun. My sister can be so funny sometimes, even when she is not trying to be. We had some laughs on her part last night. Also spent time with my mom today. Seems like we are getting closer which is a very good thing. Haven’t been close with her since I was 14. Also spoke to Adam and he might be able to help me move my stuff. He said he needs to talk to his mom and he’ll get back to me. I went to the cematery today to visit my grandpa and my aunt. Was a little upset about that, cried a little, but I know they are up there with God and they are all looking down on me and my gram.

We function as support groups for each other. I see that a lot.

oh, maybe not same feeling as being part of a blood family, but its really comforting being able to talk like the same comforting feeling I get when I’m with a really close group of friends. So yeah it is kinda like a nice big family I suppose. Its just nice having someone who will actually listen to what you say. I only have that with one person and shes away in like elgin for ages so I can ask this instead :)

Didnt you ever hear “dont beleive the type” If you are calling this a family its pretty sad.. Everybody knows the internet is filled with phonies and this sight isnt any different. Anybody could sound nice on paper until you meet them in person…
but atleast on this website everyone is nice to each other. not like oher website where people are forever critisising each other.

In a way yes…some people get closer than others.
Yeah, I do think it’s like one big family, I look forward to it every day and days that I can’t indulge I am upset.
i think its more like the communities that we had in the past… most of the time we dont know our neighbours (im no exception) and when i talk to my mum and older people about when they grew up, everyone knew everyone in the area.. people helped out if there was troubles, visited or gave food/fuel/clothes if the husband was ill and couldnt go to work or got made redundant.. we dont have that any more so i guess this is our substitute..
of course we are a family help.com is the perfect family that i could only dream of i luv all of u guys
