Just explain that it is not him, but you. Tell him what he has given you, explain you will carry that with you and how grateful you are… Give him time to express his anger and pain, make sure he can go through being in denial and be sure what you want to do is definitely the right thing, because there should be no going back if you truly want this and he should know where he stand. Honesty will be respected and what is the alternative? You cannot live a lie so you have to go ahead - some times things hurt and are hard to do, they atill must be done though.

aw man..this is a tough one..Usually what i do is I make them think i’m a horrible person and try to get them to break up with me OR make a huge deal about something bad that they do and say that they would never do that if they really cared for you..both of these ways are rubbish and leave you feeling like crap so my advice to you is to try to be as honest as you can..it’ll never be easy though!
