yea it’s through the school, but we’re going on a weeks holiday for easter and we start proper fundraising next term,
we aren’t aloud to have anything fatty (because of the stupid healthy school crap) and yea,
we get school jersey, but we have to pay $50 and they’re only for the year twelves and there’s different ones for the footy players
I am great with stuff like this! You could do a dance where all the kids have to pay a few dollars to get in and have a raffle with stuff donated from local businesses. You could do a penny war… my kids school just did one and it was great..there are 130 students in the school and they raised over $1000!! What you do is every grade has a jar and you get one point for every penny in the jar, but the catch is, you lose points too… 5 points per nickle, 10 per dime..etc. all the other grades will put larger denominations in other jars so they can win! The grade that has the most points at the end wins a popcorn and movie party or something…
That sounds really neat kmcc2!!
Or there’s always carwashes, candy sales, bake sales, and things like that.
thanks!
Something that I have done with a school that has a lot of rules is we designed a carnival. Each grade did a booth and the parents helped build or donate the items needed. We also had a car donated from a local dealership and raffled it off. We could charge more because of the huge prize plus more people wanted several chances to win. We also did an art fair. We had the kids make projects in their art classes and then held a silent auction for the artwork. We had parents bring healthy food and charged a small fee, and we had a few parents and church members face paint and we set up a donation boothe for the cause. If it is a school focused on health issues that might be a great way to market a bake sale. Except, instead of cookies and cakes, sell bottled water with the schools logo or tofu cookies. We have also done a healty cookbook in the schools name. We collected receipes from staff and family and had a local printer cut us a deal. Then sold them for almost 3 times what we paid. Also, local flower shops like to help out and make deals. We had made a deal with a flower shop and bought boxes of candy from Sam’s. We sent out forms the week before for orders. The parents sent their children flowers (carnation’s are cheap) candy, and this year we added balloons. The trick is to price and plan an order form and then give yourself enough time to collect all monies. Then buy the supplies. Anything left after supplies is pure profit. Just thought I would share. Hope all works out for the best. Good Luck!
I don’t know where you are located but in a couple of different states I have been in they have sold trash bags. These trash bags are unlike any you can buy int the grocery store. They have three different sizes and they come in huge rolls. They are all priced the same but the bigger bags have fewer on the roll. The smallest size is for a tall kitchen trash can and they go up from there. The great thing is you initially take orders and then order a percentage extra because once people use them they want more because of the quality. And since they can’t buy them anywhere else you have no problems getting rid of the surplus. Also the percentage you earn is higher than most traditional sales like candy bars, magazines, etc.

We have like a field day ( Eagle week) and we have games and plays and things everday in the last 2 blocks of school and each student pays like 3 dollars to get in. You raise money, miss class, and it is a great photo op
A dance with $5 admission
a talent show… with a prize to the winner… charge 7 dollars a seat and get the highschool rock band to play a benifit concert.. I am sure they would love to help. peaceout
or you could have a concert.. there must be some bands in your school and you could pass a bucket round you dont have to pay the bands and you can just do it in a school field.
they all sound like good ideas, yes there are a few musically gifted people in this school it’s motivating everyone that seems to be the problem. but i will give all of these ideas a shot. thank you
No problem hunny. I just here to help.
the fundraising seems to be going well, we havn’t done anything like a disco or anything yet. but i think we’ve got about $300-$400 so far, and it’s only june, but yea we need to do some more.
Cool… keep going!!
we are, we’re going to hold a movie night next term, then a barbeque and a car wash maybe. hope things go good
my school had a car wash and it rained and we went anyway so we didn’t wash many cars but we got alot of donations.
sorry i was wrong we’ve got about $2200.
we’re going to have troubles with the car wash because we were recently in a drought and we might still be although it’s been raining for a day or two. and there are water restrictions.
that sucks. but it’s great that you have $2200. good luck!!
Host a dinner party. Invite friends and family members and ask for small donation. Don’t forget to prepare presentation to effectively communicate the cause. Be ready to answer some questions that may arise and thank everyone for coming and donating.
