“Nothing stays, all changes; but not words, not paint.”
This quote came from To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf.
I really like it because it makes me feel better about the purpose of life.
For example, I like to write and my mom likes to paint. After we die, my written words and my mom’s paintings will remain forever as representations of us.
Creating works that signify “you” is the best way to make your existence more meaningful.
Works don’t have to be books or paintings; anything that you create is a tangible symbol of your existence. So many people live their lives obsessed with gaining material wealth and objects without ever creating. When they die, their possessions will be sold and nothing will remain as being truly theirs.
