I share your pain.. this has happened to me and Modest Needs came to my rescue… they can either pay shelter needs or utilities if they are due to be cut off… join soon as you can and post a request… they will need proof of your need and you have a small window of opportunity to get the info to them but if they can help you they will they are awesome… the website is www. modestneed.org.. much luck and hope it all works out ok..

I need help with my past due rent I have been out of work for 5 years and I am looking for work but can’t get hired my husband was out of work also he was fired due to being out sick to much due to respitory and heart problems he has just found a new job last week but it is a big pay cut for him. we got really behind over the summer. we are 3months past due on our month and our landlord has gotten judgement I am just waiting for them to come kick us out they gave us an extra 3 weeks to try to come up with the money and I have spent everyday of that 3 weeks trying to find the money I have tried threw the state but because we don’t take any other state help like medicare or food stamps that wont help us. I desperately need help I have also looked into fed grants but haven’t gotten anywhere with that. Please if you know any help that I can get in the next couple of days please let me know I am very desperate!!!!! P.S I have other bills past due but this the most important one.

Join modest needs dot com asap… they are pretty good about helping with utilities and rent etc….

You can apply to the various pharamcitical companies and see if you qualify for free meds through them.. my mom gets hers through there because by the time she pays shelter , utilitlies etc.. there’s no money left for her diabetes and other meds… also there is a company called RX Outreach that you can find on line that will with a dr.’s prescription give you a 90 day supply for 20-30 dollars ( 30 is for cancer and very expensive drugs ) but much cheaper than paying out of pocket…check them out… all the dr’s office have or should have numbers and how to apply to the various companies that supply them drug samples etc…every company have different guidelines but check them all out… good luck…

You need to apply for Energy Assistance as long as you have no income… they can get your power turned back on… I can’t figure out why no one will help you out long as you have no income… you should be eligble for food stamps etc. call one of your state senators and see what they can do to interviene on your part… you can also apply to Modest Needs dot org… they may help you with a one time grant… make sure you have everything like paper work to document you need…they are a great organization that helps alot of people… Seriously call your senators offices and see if they can help… that’s why they are elected.. to help out the people of your state… check out the LLEAP web site and they can tell you where to apply for energy assistance that will cover elect. gas or oil for heating… they don’t cover water , sewer, garbage etc… I’ll be thinking of you and if you need anything else this it the site to get answers… Good Luck…

You need to contact some of the above places for help asap… only you can do this… we can’t do it for you… this page will help you alot but you have all the info about your situation so contact them asap… apply for energy assistance, food stamps anything that will help you…get over this bump in the road….get going girl…and good luck…

You need to get help and garnish his wages if the kids are his too… he needs to step up… but more to the point you need help to get your head in the right place to be there for your kids… call Legal services and see if they can help you with legal help… plus check out the human services for food stamps etc… Help your self girl… read over some of these posts that’s what is so neat about this site… it’s here to help… stop expecting it done for you…you can not depend on another human to do for you do for yourself…. check out modest needs dot org… but you need all sorts of documentation to prove your need…. apply for LHEAP ( energy assistance ) all states have it….dry your tears , set aside your fears, and take care of those babies and yourself… let that man alone… he sounds toxic for you and the kids…i’ts a tuff road to walk down but it can be done… my mom did it with three kids and one was handicapped…now good old dad realizes what he lost and tries to convince us he’s a changed man but the more time we are around him the more we see his old ways creep back about… I for one am glad my mom got some backbone and completely walked away…it was hard at times but she was so much happier and so were us kids…

Read all these posts with all the suggestions… if you are on SSI then contact your local community office for LHEAP assistance… you were eligible as of october 1,07 to apply for heating assistance and if you get approved they can’t shut you off until April 1 08… start looking up their number now…. and look over all the helpful tips that others leave here… LHEAP is a federal program and is available in all 50 states…. no one here is going to give you money unless they are scam artists and we’ve had our share on here… when you apply or call the local office to apply for heating assistance tell them and I stress tell them you’ve been disconnected and they will shoot your application up faster…. good luck…. Look up LHEAP on the internet and see where your local office is to applly…

I can’t think of any place that will help you out with that amount of money… your best bet is to see if you can get payment plan with the electric co… or I’d take your aunt to court… she needs to be responsibe since you have 3 small kids… but legally I doubt if she ‘ll have to pay… perhaps with your tax return you can pay it down some… what a mess you are in… I’ll look over my list of foundations that help and see if there are any that might help you…

I would find out where you can sign up for LHEP or energy assistance… every state has it… your time is running out though… you should be eligible if you have no money or means of support… call your local relief or Dept of Human Service office and see if they can direct you to the office or look it up on the net… for your state… you could also join MODEST NEEDS dot org.. they will sometimes help… they will investigate you claim but you might get help from them too… good luck…

Well there is MODEST NEEDS dot org.. you must be able to document all your in and out going monies and prove your need….. first join and then post a request.. they are great at helping if they can… there is also a new place called payday patch dot com… you need to have a paypal account or get one before you join and then you can post a request…sometimes you’ll get lucky and get help…remember to not ask for more than you can help someone with yourself.. it’s a website to pay it forward… if someone helps you then you need to help someone else… but check it out… several on this site might want to think about checking out this site… perhaps we all can help each other out…like a community… good luck…

hi my name is jim. i got hurt on 4/13/06 on the job,and i was working for myself when another individual was not paying attention to what he was doing. i was loading my own truck when he pressed the wrong liftgate lever and i tripped ove it trapping my legs underneith a cage i was pulling on the truck,as the liftgate triped me i fell to the floor and the liftgate procceds to raise me up in the air because he was not paying attention to what he was doing.there was about 5 individuals telling him to let go of the button. he did let go but thats when i fell back down to the floor the second time.and i have been severely hurt.i have three surgurys rotater cuff,2 disc replaced in my neck and just 5wks ago had 2 disc replaced in my lower back.and i am going to see orthepedic surgeon over my knees because they are giving out because the way i walk.i am 46 yrs old wife 2small children ages 5 and 2. i need help on electric bill and numerous of other bills wifes 8.00 an hour and having 20 miles one way we are not surviving.

You sound like you should be able to get social security disability… I’d contact Binder and Binder and see what they can do…I ‘d also take all my documentation to the Electric Co. and see what they can do to work out a payment arrangement… I would think you might be eligible for Crisis money through LHEAP…. contact your local community action office… see if they can help you through this or refer you to someone who can… I know how you feel.. like you are on an island by yourself… if the other guy caused this perhaps he has some kind of insurance that would cover this and help with your bills.. I doubt if he’d like to get sued… you could inquire about it though… money is so tight with all the agencies now that our country is in such a financial mess… best of luck to you… as a last resort try Modest Needs dot org and see if they might be able to help… they have several big beneafactors who give big donations and they give out alot of grants per month… can’t say enough about what a neat organization they are… check them out.. join and go from there… you do need to document any request you make so make sure you can prove your need for what you ask for…

Follow directions and apply to the above charity ( modestneeds dot org… ) asap… if you read all the advice we give you you’ll be way ahead of the game… this charity gets matching funds and helps lots of people but have all your documentation ready … apply to join then post a request… did you apply for energy assistance this year… if not perhaps your local human serive can steer you in the right direction…. good luck

Not really sure if this will help anyone out there and the laws change from state to state but here is what I found out when I was speaking with an Attorney here in Iowa about my Fema appeal…. I was upset that on top of everything FEMA was not doing to help me replace I got hit with an eviction notice and naturally the amount was for past due rent and court costs etc… I was about to have a nervous breakdown along wtih losing almost everything in the great Iowa Flood of 08.. the attorney told me to calm down… and listen…. he said according to Iowa law I can not be evicted for back rent amount if I pay the current month rent on time … any rent past 30 days you can not be evicted for.. it is under the law of peacable possesion law… I can be sued for the back amount in small claims though but not evicted..I don’t want to give anyone the idea it’s ok to screw your landlords out of what is due them and in small claims court they can still sue to get the rest of the money you owe them but it helps to know that if the law applies to your state you won’t be evicted… then you can make arrangements to pay on the back due amount owed after all they are deserving of that…check your state laws and see if this would apply in your state… hope it helps someone alittle…

Hi we are a family of 4. Currently we are living in our own apartment and have half our rent paid for last month. We still own $500 and we own $150 for our electric bill. I do work but are having trouble even keeping food in the house for my 2 kids. We have been homeless before and I really don’t want to put my kids through that again. I am trying really hard to provide for them. The apartment we live in is also infested with cockroaches but we can’t afford to move anywhere else. Someone please help us. I’d try modest needs dot org… but that will take some time and you need all your income verification plus any other documents ready to fax if they decide to take your case…you’ll need to join and they can only help with one bill… the draw back here…is… they can only help you once… if they pay your rent what about the next month… etc… they want to be able to get you back on your feet for good… but check it out… fyi… this is a site that will help you with info… but you won’t get any money from this site… guidance is all…plus our prayers that you find the help you are seeking… good luck…
