i dropped my mobile phone in sea water and it wont turn on..

what shall i do? the vodafone guy said they might not repair it and ill have to buy a new phone AND IM NOT MADE OF MONEY

Unfortunately, it is probably done. Usually when one drops an electronic in the water, they should not turn it on for a number of days (until it dries out) because it will short the equipment (that doesn’t guarantee it will be safe). Bring it to a phone depot–they will give you a more accurate assessment.

Also, don’t bring Electronics around the water anymore (especially if you are not made of money).

Next time, wash it up with clear drinkable water and remove the battery immediately… Mine survived this way… Do not carry expensive equipment near the sea. **** happens!

immediately remove the battery and sim . keep under the sun for 2 days. or hot air blow for some time. when you are sure that the water is dried up insert the battery and sim and simply switch on.

otherwise immediately take the phone to the authorised service centre. they will take care of it.

never switch on the phone when it is wet.

i dropped my phone in the sea too well i didnt really drop it i kind of went in the sea with it in my pocket now… well she didnt make it :( i recomend insurance for really nice phones. my IPHONE3GS —- didnt have it thats £300 and a well good phone down the toilet well in the sea should we say?. grrrr.x happychappy :(

some freindly advice… NEVER LET YOUR PHONE NEAR WATER- IT CANT SWIM.

i dropped my phone in the sea too well i kind of STUPIDLY went in the sea with it in my pocket i suggest insurance for nice phones my lovely brand new beutiful I PHONE 3GS didnt have it so thats 300 pounds and one hek of a phone… down the toilet or should i say- in the sea.
