What do you call this in english and what is it used for please?

I think it has something to do with cheese! There’s one in the kitchen of the place i’m renting..just curious!

It appears to be a cheese spreader. You use it to separate a piece of solid cheese into thin slices. For sandwich making. Being a block of cheese myself, I find such devices inhumane.

I once robbed a cheese factory with one of these.

All I had to do was wave it in front of all the cheeses, and it didn’t matter what type they were, they all froze stiff.

I was going to yell, “Freeze, Cheese Heads, or I’ll SLICE you into little pieces”! But… It was unnecessary.

A cheese plane sounds funny, rather than a cheese slicer. How about a cheese cutter? heh heh
About 10 years ago I worked in a deli and learned to never say, “I need to cut some cheese.” LOL
Some of the customers with no sense of humor wouldn’t find that too funny.
