The tower on my windows XP will not come on.

My fan won’t run and the light will not come on. It’s plugged in and I checked my power supply so now I’m lost??

It’s one year old. I used to use it a lot. I do know that I had a strom and it just never came back on after it turned off.

The switch at the back? Maybe its power surged or fused at the plug. The power pack could have gone… really it could be a lot of things, need to take it to a computer shop

I had a friend that as long as he held the power button in the front it would stay on. But he wasn’t too good at one hand typing. What he did find out his power supply was gone. He had thought it might be a faulty switch, but it wasn’t. They have power supply testers that run about $10.00USD and on up at computer stores (Compusa http://www.compusa.com/, Micro Center http://www.microcenter.com/, New Egg http://www.newegg.com/, these computer stores do mail order). You do not even have to take it out to test the power supply. Figure that you might have to replace the power supply. Cost about $25.00USD and on up.
