marriage help: I’m just doing research really, but I really want to know. - Help.com

I’m just doing research really, but I really want to know.

If I graduate high school at 17, I’ll be legally emancipated from my parents. Can I get married without them signing for it since I will have no ties to my parents?

I do not know the answer. I would recommend not being in such a hurry to get married. Marriage is a huge commitment. Why not give your relationship some time to grow and mature?

Why would you want to get married at such a young age? There is so much to do and see.Or anyone I know you said reserch but dont. That guy might not be the one I would wait even if the law allowed it.Young marriges dont work.Enjoy your life first. Thats a very big big commiment. And you have to be very ready to give up alot. Take your time.

Life is so fabulous to learn. I think it’s quite different between single and married life. All I said is just wishing you to be happy if it comes from your throughly decision.

And to anonymous, I dont think the actual divorce rate is any higher than the divorce rate of older first time couples. Or couples who one of which is a preacher for that matter. All of which have about a 50% divorce rate. So statistically young, old, religious or not, we are all in the same boat.
