Maybe someone who doesn’t like “time is money” made it up - like as time goes by you age faster so do whatever it is now, or something like that. (Tissue being age related) Or maybe I’m weird to think of that.

I think the expression is “time is at issue” not “time is tissue.”

The phrase “Time is Tissue(tm)” is often used to articulate the need to treat bites quickly to prevent tissue damage.

TIME IS TISSUE. This has become the catchphrase from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. When you have a clot in your heart or your heart has stopped. Time=Tissue. Same thing with a blood clot or Aneurism in brain. Same could go for a blood clot anywhere. Time=Tissue. Every second that blood is blocked or slowed down means Oxygen rich blood is not getting to the needed tissue. The phrase is meant to make people really think about how important it is not to fiddle around and waste time getting help. Many ignore the warning signs until it is too late. If you dont think every second counts, try this exercise. Hold your breath while driving to the doctors. Chances are you wont make it past the first red light. A minute or two is all we can stand and then we either breath voluntarily or pass out to start breathing on our own again. This exercise will not cause any damage, but imagine 5-10 more minutes without air. That’s what its like for your cells. I dont remember the exact times, but like after 4 min the cells start dying off. After 10 min you got some serious damage starting. Keep waiting and it means more and more significant damage is done (if you survive). AHA and ASA have combined organizations. Please check their website to educate yourself and your loved ones. Most important thing to remember…call ambulance. Yes you’ll have to wait a few min for them to come there…but they’ll get through lights quicker and can start measure to help quicker….Also…listen up here…people coming in on a stretcher get triaged quicker than walk ins….someone who walks in will be waiting 10-20 min before a nurse even takes their blood pressure and asks them while they’re there today. My husband had a major stroke 4 years ago then died 2 yrs after. I wish I knew then what I know now….
Hope this helps
