Someone once said, yoga & meditation are a practice of whichcraft.

Is this true? I allways thought it to be a calming activity. I am a Christian and they say this is against Gods teachings.. Could this be true?

lol! How could sitting, and listening to God be against God’s rule? Every major prophet and even Jesus himself were noted many times medititating. THey might not have called it that, but what else were they doing walking up a mountain to listen to God, or going out into the wilderness. And if He’s against Yoga, pilates must be REALLY evil…

Although these are methods applied to other religions & cultures. It does not mean they cant be used for a good tool in your own life. I find that meditation is a great way to clear my nind & just think of nothing. I use if for the birth of my first child & it worked wonderfully.

For once My3 and I agree. :) Yoga and meditation are just tools to still the chatter in your head so you can actually hear the voice of God speak to you. Prayer is talking to God. Meditation is listening for His answer. Witchcraft is the common term given to the practise of “magic” in the nature religion known as Wicca. The first rule for all witches is “Do what you will, but harm none.” In Wicca, it is believed that whatever you do to another comes back upon you 3 fold. There are spells to help and bless, but spells to curse and harm are forbidden. Wicca got a bad rap with early Christians when early church leaders, in an attempt to abolish paganism, associated witches with Satan. This is how the horned devil image came to be the modern symbol of Satan. Wiccans pay homage to the Mother Goddess and the Horned God. They believe these to be the male and female aspects of the One God. Well, some modern Wiccans might not believe that, but those were the ancient teachings. The priests of Wicca were called Druids. They lived in pre-Roman England. Most of them were killed by Roman Christians.

As to your questions on yoga and meditation. This is not meditation. Although any person using these processes for malicious or negative activity is a spiritual sin/ sin period with God.

Meditation, yoga, etc are sooo far from witchcraft. If anything, I have found that they bring me closer to God/a Higher Power….

I guess this is an old post but I will comment again. Many countries have forms of meditation! depending who taught you and what they want you to meditate on is the question! It could be against GOD or support Gods cause! I need more facts. Yoga is an ancient art and some ignorant people, could be muslim, catholic, jehovas and/or christians etc,etc could support or not support YOGA. Yoga is not against God! Now if you are using YOGA in a negative manner! then that is against God!!!!!

Again I need more details!!!! Society is ignorant and if society was to at least try YOGA and apply it to there life they would have a better life and it would put you in a better position when you are trying to stay on your track with God.

GOOD LUCK

God is in all men, but all men are not in God; that is why we suffer
