Find help: My teacher gave me a homework assignment. - Help.com

My teacher gave me a homework assignment.

It was long division. My teacher asked us to find the answer to 48/110.4 and to show our work. But I can’t seem to figure it out. Can you help me?

48 goes onto 110.4 2 times - the multiply 48 by 2 which is 96, subtract that from 110.4 which leaves 14.4 now 48 does not go into 14.4 so you are now at 2.0 the next step is to ask how many times 48 goes into 144 (moving the decimal point)

can u figure out the rest?

and can you put it in division format?

I believe the problem to be 48 divided by 110.4 (48/110.4?)? if this is so, then you must move the decimal point in divisor(110.4) one space to the right making it a whole number. Then you need to do the same to the dividend,48 which is already a whole number…. so it then becomes 480.000000, now that both the divisor and the dividend are whole numbers, you may divide. Your answer will be a decimal number.I carried the answer out to 6 decimal places and quit… but you can keep adding 0’s to the dividend and keep going, depending on how many decimal places your teacher wants you to go….

First, there are many sites available on the web to help with simple math. Try this one “http://www.webmath.com/divide.html.

Please keep this in mind. Basic math, adding subtracting, division, etc are for you to develop and learn to apply the process. When a teacher assigns you such homework, you should make an attempt to get the teacher to show you how to do the process. The answer is almost unimportant. So please, please, please learn the process because as math becomes more complex, understanding the process with help you immensely. We will almost never just give you the answer on here.

Good luck

some people think just because they do something right, that they can do just about what ever they want and i think that should be wrong because just because people think that it dosnt mean a thing about work they care more about thierself
