I need serious help right now!

My boyfriend dumped me yesterday. But I don’t want to break up with him and he broke up with me because my parents won’t let me see him and there is no way to fix it with my parents. How do I change his mind? Help! I really love him. Please help me!!

Get them to see how much you like the guy and see if you can come to a compromise.

Looks like your problem is your parents. They must have a good reason to stop you from seeing the guy. Have always found that parents are usually right. If you are “dead set” on this working, then get all parties to sit down and talk it out.

I hate to splash some cold water on this, but as unfair as you think your parents are, do recognize they are doing the best they know how to protect you. Maybe they were concerned about you getting hurt by somebody who seemed more like a thug or “playa” than serious boyfriend material. Your parents might be clueless about what’s cool or fashionable, but don’t discount their ability to read a young man’s character and maturity. It sounds as if they gave your boy a chance to wow them and he failed. But the real point is that he kind of failed you, too. If your now ex-boyfriend was really that serious about you, he wouldn’t have given up on you so easily. It’s got to hurt I know, but it doesn’t sound as if this relationship was meant to be. I wish I could say that it will be easy to get over the loss, but please believe that you will and you will find somebody better who is actually willing to fight for you.

C.M.’s post is good advise. When you are young, you have these crisises, and in your young mind, it SEEMS very unfair. But, when you are older, you will probably REALLY appreciate your parents. Be patient and things will come near working out.
