Nothing too serious here.

I’ve just always been curious. If your car is airborne, should you rev your engine so your tires are rotating when you land? Or is it better to land with them not moving?

(I was just watching the original Dukes of Hazard, so that may have prompted the question. Thanks!)

I would say you should have them already moving when you hit the ground…just my opinion.

I believe they will be still rotating whether you rev the engine or not. Unless you go over a high cliff and have a long way to fall.

actually, revving the engine will not be a good idea.
The tires rotate at a much higher rate then not in contact with the ground, obviously.
The impact with the ground will put strain on the suspention, and if the tires connect with more than normal acceration force, the suspention can twist, causing the entire frame of the vehicle to be torn from the drive train…
All in all, not a good thing.
