Love help: i love art but my parent want me to be a doctor.so i enrol medicine faculty but i still not interested in this field. - Help.com

Hey there Anonymous, by living what your parents want you to live, you are destroying yourself, enroll in something you like, even if your parents disagree I’m sure they wont hate you all of your life because you did something that passionates you, they have to understand you dont like medicine but art.
Talk to them, make a solution and follow it.

no matter how hard it is, tell your parents. rather than fail in the middle of it since ur heart is not into it.

Always follow your heart or you will forever regret it! you will never enjoy the medicine jobs coz you will always be thinking about the art bits your missing out on. Trust me when I say this!

There is often a trend with parents-some try to live their own lives through their children. Unfortunately for them, this is your life, not theirs, so do what you want to do.

If your not interested in the medical field, get out. you spend on average about 40 years of your life working. you might as well be doing something you love. if you like art, why not get into photography, interior design or something like that. it’s not your parents decision to make. good luck

don’t forget you only have one life to live, if you love doing art, and it truly makes you happy you should do it. and your parents love you, and they maybe upset with you for a moment or two, but i am sure they will come around. i’m wishing the best for you :)

Please follow your heart because you will seriously regret doing what your parents want you to do even if you are under age you’re going to have to tell them how you feel. Hey ask them “did they do every single thing their parents wanted them to do”? If they did….. Then they are robots, get out of the house. lol
Anyway you will feel so much better if you let them know, and like what stephmtay said that they might be upset but in the long run do you want to be happy and help people with your talent that was given to you or do you want to be unhappy working for your parent’s wishes and not your own.

As hard as it is to believe now, art is everywhere, as is beauty. You won’t be a very good doctor if you’re miserable, but art can be pursued no matter WHAT you do. I personally did not finish college. I’m not terribly self disciplined. And now I work very hard to support my family while still making and selling art, and am unable to jump into art only- starving artist doesn’t sound so good. Had I finished school, had a better career, maybe I could have saved money for this dream. Whatever road you choose, self discipline AND a dream will take you where you want to go.
PS I’m a parent of 3 and believe me, if you follow your own path, mom and dad will still love you.
