This isn’t really a question…

Has anyone ever had sleep paralyisis?
Almost EVERY night I have it.I’m always sleeping with one hand under the pillow with my head kind of resting on my hand. im just about to drift into sleep, when I hear a door slam far off in some unknown place. Then i hear pounding, either my own blood pounding in my ears or maybe it’s very heavy footsteps. either way for some reason i feel as if it’s no big deal, but inside I know whats about to happen, but I wont will myself to open my eyes (for some reason it’s not out of fear). Then any and all sound halt. i feel my chest shrink down and make breathing very difficult. then all of a sudden the pounding grows very loud and all the oise in the room come back, only twisted and sounding like gibberish,or as if it’s being done backwards, this is really noticeable when I have the t.v up kind of loud. then I feel like there is someone in the room an evil or malicious being. then I try to open my eyes but can’t and all limbs are immobilized. after what seems like eternity i barely open one eyeid, and there is something by my bed, most often it’s a really tall white thing, I always picture it as a very tall elderly person with a eggshell white robe on, and it’s so tall I cant see it’s head, just a white figure with 2 arms, I cant even move my eyeballs. and everything has this fish eye view thing. then I just snap out of it, everything is back to normal, and i feel exhausted, my breath is like i’ve been playing football for 3 hours straight, and im sweaty, but the sweat is cold. Just wondering if anyone else has the problem, and if they have a story.

Well, turn off the TV for one thing — that talking gets into your dreams. And, yes, unless there is a chemical imbalance, everyone goes through REM paralysis. It helps a lot of people just to know what it is, and you seem to know, so when it starts to happen, relax and remind yourself it will pass in a minute or so.

The nightmarish part, when the “evil” presence appears, is caused by a panic reaction to knowing you’re paralyzed — that’s why yo feel so exhausted.

When you’re in REM paralysis and aware, you’re in a highly lucid state. Some people get in that state and are happy because they know they can dream about whatever they want. Flying is popular. Just takes some imagination.

I’ve had it a couple of times. Once was after watching a documentary about it where some guy was saying it was demons - well that was it, boy was I **** scared when it happened to me a few hours later. I could feel the fear working it’s way up the back of my head. I remember desperately willing my hand to move.

The second time it happened I just lay there calmly waiting for the ‘fear’ to pass and since then it’s never returned. Although I’ll probably get it tonight now.

I think a lot of it has to do with anxiety. Half your brain is still asleep, so there’s lots of info rattling about in there that is not being passed to the rational part of the brain, hence you can induce your own ‘reality’, as most people panic in this situation their ‘reality’ is fear.

People that get it often usually come to terms with it, and some may even take advantage of this state to induce very relaxed, sense-of-well-being kind of sensations - it’s cheaper than pot I guess.

in CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND there is a world class sleep clinic. there was a whole series of programs recently in the uk showing all the problems people have in there sleep and your problem was included. u should contact them. but if you cant be bothered i think they said the problem could be a few things like mild epilepsy and could be easily treated with drugs..but im not the expert.

I get that now and then, Only when im in a certain place/house tho! Also very ofthe i can see a person who isn’t really there, I explained what the person looked like to a family member and trns out its there grandfather who I had never seen as he died when my family member was very young! I had never once heard a story about this man untill i asked questions after my experiences, One of the first times I had this experience I got almost like a sense that there was something drawing me to the mans eyes so i asked my family member and it turns out the man was actually blind, I id not know this as the man had did 30Years before I was born! I have had many more experiences and was wondering if anyone else has anything like this happen them?
