Year help: OK who knows how to sacrifice quality over quantity. - Help.com

OK who knows how to sacrifice quality over quantity.

I have had my own business for 11 years now and did very well with just me and a helper. This is the first year I chose to hire 2 more guys. I have already started to see a Delcine in production and quality. Most of my clients are well off business type people and have hundreds of employees. What should I do stay small and sleep at night or get so big that it all gets lost in in the politics of the business???

It’s your business, run it how you want. Keep it afloat, but keep it what you wanted it to be when you made it.

If you are making a decent living with just a couple of you and you won’t lose business it probably wouldn’t hurt to stay small. If you do decide to go big, (this is easier said than done) offer a higher wage and be picky about the employees that you hire, you can find good quality workers that will help you keep a good reputation, you’ll just have to screen better and offer a competitive package.

Hey King,
That’s the tricky part, I have been loosing business due to not being able to do it in there time frame. Most of my work comes from referrals. So it is a clients friend or boss or relative. Most are willing to wait but some don’t. It was the don’t that caused me to try to hire guys to do the rough in work and get it to the point of finish work. The issue is now I am running around trying to make sure they get it right before I get there. So that means I’m not on a job delivering what the client expected. So, it has never been the money for me,I do well with the jobs but lately over the last month it has dropped due to faulty work and not being able to listen. I am at a threshold of going big or sleeping at night, the more I think of it the more I will stay small and leave the battles to the big dogs.

For some the whole picture is quite grand while for others a smaller overview is more appealing. Pretty much you have to ask yourself which is your niche and then drive your dreams in that direction. I am of Christian upbringing and truly beleive in a higher power. God has a plan for all of us and I am certain that whichever position you take he will be there to aid you, just ask!

Since you are of the entrepeneurial nature then perhaps this site may be something interesting to you:
