Cut help: I cut myself shaving this morning, and can’t stop the bleeding! - Help.com

I cut myself shaving this morning, and can’t stop the bleeding!

I’ve tried using tissue blots, but every time I take them off the cut starts bleeding all over again. It’s been like two hours. Does anybody have advice on another way to deal with this?

How about a bandaid? Those litte round ones are pretty good. Question is why are you bleeding so much? Do you have a blood condition or taking blood thinners for high blood pressure / cardio issues? Bleeding 2 hours after a shaving nick is not normal.

hi richhills - no blood condition, and not taking any blood thinners. I wanted to avoid the bandaid, as I’ve cut myself shaving in the past, and it usually took no time for it to stop. It does make me wonder though, I am taking a topical acne medication that I just realized I may have gotten a bit near the cut, and is causing this to occur. I guess I’m going to go the bandaid route. Thanks for helping!

SoCo! I haven’t seen you on in a while - welcome back! Actually a stypic pencil is a great idea - there’s a walgreen’s near the office so I’ll get one there. Thanks!!!
