As long as you eat healthy and are taking vitamins thats all that matters. Just make sure you are getting all the nutrients your body needs.

Just wondering, why did you decide to become a veggiephile? It’s all good by me, I was just curious as to what prompted the change.

Especially proteins. When going veggie, it’s easy to consume to many carbohydrates, shooting your insulin to high, and high insulin adds to the risk of inflammation.

Vegetarian diet is potentially much more healthy, as long as you eat balanced. Fibers and proteins is what you need.

And please continue eating eggs, they’re the best source of high quality proteins. :)

Ideally you should aim for 40% carbs, 30% proteins and 30% fat. Carbs is what you likely have enough of, remember to eat a lot of fat and proteins during the day.

You know the average life expectancy in Loma Linda county in Los Angeles is higher than normal. The reason is probably that there so many adventists (who are encouraged to be veggies).

My mother used to be a veggie. She only stopped because she got married. I myself would never go veggie, but I respect people who do decide to.

Plants were alive. And with the amount of time it takes for them to die after they’ve been harvested, it’s possible that you’re eating that salad while the plants are still living. You CAN’T live death-free, in order for humans to live, things need to die. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but it’s true.

Don’t get me wrong, while I doubt I’d ever make the choice you have, I support it, and hope you adjust to it well.

i thin its reaaly good being veggie, i used to be one but couldnt resist a special meal, now i eat meat like once a week, and i eat a looooooot of vegetables, cause they taste amazing, better than all fast food stuff(though i luv that too sometimes)
but i dont understand why you should eat 30% fat, that is soooooooo much, i dont think its good to eat that much fat, i prefer fat-reduced stuff…..and i guess your family is a bit oldfashined and they worry about you…..but at the end it will be you that lives healthier, maye you should start cooking veggi stuff, and im sure theyll enjoy it and maybe start eating less meat…ohoooh, but fish is also very very important because of the jod….gives you power……mio besos

Yes, you want those 30% fat, because they don’t increase your blood sugar to whooping amounts. Omega 3 acid fats are the best, which you get from fat fish and oils you get from avocado and olives are great. Carbohydrates make you fat at the same speed (or even faster) than fat, because your body will want to store energy every time your blood sugars surpasses a certain amount. The way to keep a stable blood sugar is to eat food (in small than American amounts) that take time to digest. Sugar and other fast carbohydrates like wheat found in bread and crackers are bad. Fiber rich and protein and fat rich stuff is better. Corn flakes with a spoon of sugar is dangerous in comparison to olive oil on vegetables.

yea the fat myth.. I agree with a high quality fat intake while being a veggie or meat eater. the omega 3 as said above is much better then the 6s, but dont eliminate thre omega 6s.. Just proportionatly more 3s… Lots of olive also. You are on the right track being a veggie, though dont be too anal.. If the body becomes weak and starts craving meat please listen to your body…If you are an athlete it may be hard to be a veggie unless you do some serious reading… Go to a health food store and get a good book on the subject.. it will take some food planning to stay healthy and strong..peaceout

Don’t forget to take a b-complex vitamin. A vegetarian diet will leave you deficient in b-12 so be sure to take extra.
