I am a disabled woman in a wheelchair and my husband

is not doing too well he has cardio myopothy and congested heart failure and his heart is only functioning at 17% and we live in a 2 story house that is very unaccessible and what I need is help getting my house to be accessible without costing alot of money. We are trying to get him on social security and I am trying to find work but I haven’t had any luck so we are not doing to good as of right now. I can only enter and exit out of the Back of my house because in the front there are alot of steps and going out the back my kitchen is so narrow that I only have about 1 inch on each side of my chair and i pray to God that there is never a fire in y dining room or my kitchen, if that were to happen I would have no way to escape. So if there is anyone out there that can help me I would be so GRATEFUL Thank You Arlene

I hope that you are on disability. To get your husband on social security I hope you have a lawyer. They take you much more seriously and the process goes much quicker if you have a lawyer. God bless.

Hi, Arlene!

There may be some local state or county agencies who can help. I don’t know any off hand, but if you contact one, like Department of Family and Children Services, they may know who can help on the government side of things.

Contact to a local religious institution. Most have community outreach programs and can get a group together in a few weeks to help with almost any situation. You can look in the phone book, visit web sites, or go directly to the place of worship. United Methodist Churches are usually very big on community outreach. You’re looking for the outreach missions director.

Talk to your neighbors.

It’s really hard for us to help you since we’d have to go to your house, and we’re not keen on sending money because you never know whose making up stories.

You sound really positive!

If you plan to pay back the money , you can ask for a loan at Prosper. People may help you. More information at http://www.acreditlibrary.com/prosper…

You can also try your luck at online charities, people may send donations. More information at http://www.laodn.org/
