I know this is old but it just got into my mind. Why should he be fired when we hear things like that from other people in the media every day???

Imus was fired for making racially based derogatory remarks in the year of 2007. Don’t you think he should have gotten over his need to degrade other human beings to make himself feel more important by now?

Yes… others say such things also daily. Perhaps we are moving in a very positive direction, and Imus is only the first out of many!!!

I don’t see how his remarks were viewed as definitively negative. First of all, he was only joking. Secondly, black comedians rank on white people all the time and don’t lose thier jobs. Thirdly, black people are admittedly “nappy headed.” It isn’t an insult, just an observation. Fourth, White women can be hos just as much as black women. In conclusion, if we have the right to free speech, it should be all inclusive. The man didn’t commit a hate crime, he made a poorly thought out joke. Everybody has a bad day. Relax.
