I have 99 suburban and we replaced the motor.

Now the mechanic says there is oil in the radiator and it 5000 dollars to fix. That does not sound right. Whole new radiator and oil coolant with tranny coolant is only 299 dollars. Why so much???

I have worked as a mechanic and the cost of tools and equipment is one reason why and the cost of training is another and parts are so much also I know this doesn’t help but maybe this will give some idea of why it cost so much to have a car repaired
