Sorta sad at the moment.

Today in school my shior instructor told me that he would be moving me to the baritone section. I really enjoyed being a tenor and was proud of it. I’m pretty sad about getting switched for my last year in high school. Words of consulation would help.

By the way, does anyone know a way to keep my voice higher, short of castration, or is it just cruel fate? I hate singing in falsetto.

lol.. yeah… tenors have a tendency to kill themselves…lol

Bill… you love to sing right? Then just love to sing. Your instrument might be able to be stretched to higher tenor notes… but why put yourself though that. There are TONS of songs in the baritone range, and they are beautiful. The cool thing about a baritone, is that they can reach the lower tenor range…and the higher bass range… dam* a baritone can sing almost anything!!! And the bottom line is the love of singing! Stick with it… I know in time you will come to love your new sound… it is soooooo rich sounding. And I think you’ll find the women really will love your rich baritone voice… it’s TRUE.

Thanks Rich. The funny thing is that I can’t hit higher the bass range, its easier for me to hit the lower tenor range.

ahhhhh well you’ll be able to hit those notes with some work… and they are really cool sounding too. a chior IS NOT a chior, without it’s bass section. True you wont hit all those notes or sing that section… and yeah baritone is right in the middle.. .but again, because it’s in the middle… you have the MOST flexibility there. I love a baritone sound… not only in singing but in speaking too, because I can have a higher sound that sounds sensitive… a midrange for normal conversations… and the lower for that impressive male sound… which can be just as sexy to the ladies as the sensitive voice.

Windows shaking? Thats rather intimidating. On the other hand just immagine getting yelled at in a shrill voice by a 17 year old, lol, peoples reactions were priceless. When I got switched over to baritone I guess I just felt so common.

don’t worry, baritone is just a octave, it’s how you sing in that octave that’s rare.
