I have an external hard drive that I moved to another computer.

When I try to access it I get a message it needs to be formatted. I don’t want to format it! HELP

My first suggestion would be to hook up the external drive onto the original computer, and make sure it can still be read. If it can no longer be read by the original computer, than there is a problem with your hard drive :( On the other hand, if it _can_ be read by the original computer, then make sure you have installed the proper drivers from the hard drive’s manufacturer on the new computer.

There may be a difference in the OS installed on the 2 computers. You can find more troubleshooting tips at http://fixit.in
