So I have a situation that I need some help with.

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 3 years. We live together and I am a very jealous girlfriend. He is terrible at communicating with me and I always try to talk to him about our issues, but he just shuts down. He broke up with this girl who was pretty much his first serious girlfriend like 6 years ago. He is 24 now, so they dated through high school for about 2 years. He used to talk to her a little bit when we first started dating, but then stopped. Well he just got a myspace page a few months ago-and she added him as a friend. I was so pissed I went on his page and deleted her(i knew his password). Obviously he noticed so he added her again. Then she just left a comment on his page like reminiscing about old times. I am just wondering if I should be worried about him and her trying to reconnect, or if it is ok that they are friends. We live in Wyoming and she lives in Wisconsin so she is not close-but still-it makes me nervous. I asked him to please not speak to her because it makes me uncomfortable-but he refuses to listen. Am I being unreasonable..be honest!

Well it sounds like this guy could possibly be missing his old girlfriend. (duh) But that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t like you more. i can understand how you are leery about something like this (I would be too) I know this sounds wrong, but if you have his myspace password, don’t delete her anymore. Simply try to monitor him. If they get any more serious, sit down and have a critical talk with him about why he is still communicating with her after you asked him to stop. She doesn’t live close, so you don’t have much to worry about. Hope you can resolve this. :)

jealousy is never good for a relationship! the more controlling you try to be the more in need of space he will be. You should try to be friends with the old girlfriend if he wants to be friends with her. a lasting relationship has to be one where you trust each other.Maybe he does miss her…on occasions i miss my ex…and we do email each other…but never would i entertain the possibility of going back! what i have now is SO much better.Perhaps you should ask yourself if your boyfriend can say the same, and if not…what can you do to make him feel this way? ( Being jealous and controlling is not the answer …)

You shouldn’t be jealous, because it will end up that he won’t like you anymore. You should watch what they say and if they seem like they’re doing something behind your back you should confront him.
