Can a fish tank have too much O2?

I just set up a new fish tank, and put in a lighted bubble maker, but it makes the entire tank fill up with bubbles that just won’t go away! Can a fish overdose on Oxygen?

hi lordblaah - I updated your tags, and according to some of the fish care links in the Related Links section, most aquarium fish can handle the extra oxygen, but not all. It could be problematic for some varieties that are used to stagnant water. Let us know if these articles helped at all, or if you are still having questions.

Thanks. I just got back from the fish store and the guy who knew who stuff was working. He said that extra oxygen usually isn’t a problem but all those extra bubbles might stress out the fish.

Thanks.

It may be to much noise for them, also to much movement.
