## what does simplify mean?

sorry but i’m horrible at math the problem says: 2431-187 and than says simplify and i have no idea what to do, please help.

Is that really the full math question? Normally we say “simplify” when we are working with equations or fractions. In that case, simplifying would involve breaking down the equation into something more basic. Example: simply 8/16? That rounds down to the fraction 1/2.

From what you write you just need to subtract 187 from 2431 and that’s it. There’s nothing else you can do with the final number.
