I don’t live but thinking about moving there. What part do you live in? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m thinking about moving to the suburbs of Charlotte. Like Matthews or Concord.

I’m from New York, originally. I’ve moved to New Bern, NC. The intersection of the Trent and Neuse rivers, about 30-35 minutes from Atlantic Beach. I love it in North Carolina.

Yeah. Philadelphia is a shithole. My cousin lives there.
Carolina does lend itself easily to a feeling of home.
I’ve only lived here 6 months, and already it’s more home than home ever was.

Living it up in California.. but have visited NC… a very nice place.

I have been to SC but not NC….or maybe I drove over the border?…its been a few years.

I despise sports.
The idea of mock combat is enthralling, but besides that, I don’t enjoy.

I live in NJ now. No I’ve never been there but heard so many good things bout it. My brother and his family are moving down there this winter.
I have 4 kids. Any advise would be great.

Gave it up for music and theater, however.

OMG..in CA, people would KILL for home that price.

Riverfront property here goes for no less than 1,000,000.
And if there’s a house on it, it can double or even triple.
I rent an apartment, hehe.

I’m more concerned about the school system. I have a 15, 12, 7, and 1 1/2 years old kids. I hear the schools outside of Charlotte are better.
The houses there are still cheaper then in jersey. I can’t get a big enough home for all of us for under 600,000. Way too much. I would gladly pay 250,000 for a home that we can all fit in.

New York and New Jersey have school systems light years ahead
of North Carolina. If education is your concern, I’d recommend
you tough it out. My parents did something similar.
They wanted to move, but for the sake of my education did not.

Ah. I play guitar and keyboards. I pretended
to play clarinet for two years in the High School
band but walked away without a clue of how to use
the thing. For the record, Carolina is trying to
fix it’s school system. It’s not that it’s bad,
it’s just behind. My father is a teacher and some
of the things he brings home from school, the work
his students do, it’s mind-boggling. Some of that,
however, is the fault of the student and not the
best barometer of NC schools.

That’s too bad about the school systems. The ratings are so good online compared to where my kids go now.
