No its made almost entirely of foreigners, youll learn french throughout your training, they team you up with a french speaker when you join. In a way its like a mercenary force, as its made up of foreigners. It used to be a refuge for criminals and people who want to leave the world behind, well they dont let criminals in without question anymore. Retains alot of its tradition though, 5 years service, many recruits change their name, its actually a very prestigious force, trains its men very well.

Well they may well have a warped view of what the american army is about, many do, many have a warped view of what the legion is about too, and its not really mercenary in the traditional sense, its not like a group of bandits in the pay of a country, its part of the french army, it just seems mercenary because of its made up of foreigners.
