which has a bigger reputaion of being harder?

Physics or Chemistry? I am taking Physics, and I’m pretty good with math. I avoided chemistry because that is more science involved…

I’ve never taken physics, but chemistry, for me at least, is very simple. Physics seems more complicated, but I don’t really know.

Reputation - I think physics!

I would say that neither are any harder than the other but it does depend on what you yourself are good at.

I would agree on there being more science involved in chemistry as odd as that sounds - that’s why I was better a Chemisty than Physics. The trick is to take both what you’re good at and that you enjoy!

Why are you wanting to know?

Actually, I took organic chemistry (on a dare) and it’s difficulty is over rated. I got an ‘A’ and I wasn’t studying as much as I thought I would have had to. I think the general chemistry is tougher. I’m taking physics right now, and it’s pretty straight foward, definetly more analytical than chemistry though. I think chemistry has a higher reputation of being harder when you reach the higher levels like biochem and p-chem (which is physics based too), but it’s pretty much memorization of how things react. It’s really not too hard, jsut the reputation of medical school and cehmical engineering makes it sound more renowned. The math in chemistry is usually easy. Physics is great if you’re interested in engineering or enjoy problem solving. If you’re good at math and want to capitalize with it, most people will suggest physics.

I took Chemistry in tenth grade and Physics this year (12th)…Physics is a lot harder for me because there’s a lot of math and it’s boring lol. Chemistry is really easy actually.

As someone who aced organic chemistry and is now taking physics (and didn’t have a problem with calculus or general chem math) I can say without question physics is the toughest of all.

Organic Chem II gets pretty tough but not because the material is harder, rather you know so many reactions that when you have to combine them in many ways in cumulative exams you realize just how much knowledge you have to draw from. Physics is about the same level as the end of Orgo II imo.
