because i am a firm believer that if you help down-and-out people, they will use you and have no motivation to succeed. I am also a cynic.

I am sorry, but in soem parts of the world, down and out people have absolutely no ability to help themselves. Not every place is the USA. SOme countries are run over by terrorist groups, military groups, and govts who just dont care about them. I hope that more people will become educated about the state of this world.

A lot of people do help those who need it. Unfortunately, human ego and greed prevent everyone from doing so.

I try. I just wish I could do more now. I am going back to college in the fall so that I can become a nurse and hopefully join a group like Doctors without Borders when my children are older. My first obligation is being there for them when they are young, and often groups like this will go to dangerous areas, but when they are older I feel obligated to help however I can.

wonderful… I too have returned to college (it’s never too late :) I too am preparing for a future of service as a life coach. I wish you great amounts of luck.

If you think about it… I’m not sure that the evil in this world is what is causeing so much harm, there is and will always be evil. It is the silence and apathy that is hurting us. Not enough good people are willing to break their silence in the presence of wrongs being done (like you just did).

Bright blessings ~ Richard

Indeed… if you give a man fishing pole, you’ve fed him for life, as the saying goes, BUT if the man is truly starving, then to give him FIRST a fish is not such a bad thing either. We must all try to escape the bonds of “entitlement”, so much is taken for granted; especially in the UK and USA

Well, it is simple, just having motherly feelings towards other makes to accept world as a family. However, the cost is that one accepts the pains, sorrows and joys as an ideal mother does. We have three words, the surs, asurs and the iksurta. The Suras represent the harmony with nature and humans. The asuras create disharmony as separating the humans from the nature. However, the concept of the iksursta, is the concept of the world as a one family. Iksurta is the harmoney bewtween nature, humans and the other forms of the creations. For it the self-stepping is setting an example. One cannot teach it, the easy way to learn it is to set an example. In Chrsitainity it is the Trinity, the Father, Mother and the Son. The harmony among three is to follow it by setting an example, not just reading and sharing, what others and we already know. Sharing the experinces seems better. Thanks for your good thought.

You see without the harmony, the holy spirit, the spirit of harmony cannot help one. As the great scientist Sir Issac Newton, Galieo and others have said that all discoveries that have made is beacuse they were having the help from the Holy Spirit, which can help if one works for world as one family. The self-invested interests are not supported anywhere. If on cuts the tree that gives the fruits and the animals that give milk, none seem to help. Good luck for your good idea. Thanks!
