I know it can be hard to please some people sometimes….But keep in mind that there are individuals in this world who don’t like other people who are helpless and somehow because these individuls are put in a place of authority, they take advantage of that position and exploit others’ kindness.
In your case, I know that your teacher is probably not gonna be happy with whatever you do because maybe he/she is a misrable person to start with and doesn’t want others’ to be happy. Or maybe your teacher lacks social skills and lacks understanding.
The best thing to do is not to try to avoid the problem, but face it head on, and go on even though this problem exists.
Try to think of this problem is a very small thing and change your own thinking patter in relation to this problem. The logical thing to do there will be to get some help with Chemistry from someone other than your teacher (if he/she is not willing to help you). Go to the couseling center in school or if you have a tutoring Center..ask them for help on chemistry. Also…go online and type the chemistry concepts with which you are struggeling and look on ask.com or Goolgle.com to see if you can get a couple handouts to help you with problems. And finally, don’t let this problem get to you because outside your chemistry class, you have a different world. Chemistry class and that teacher don’t have any power over you. Repeat this over and over again to yourself, and the best of luck to you!

i have been teaching for some years and i appreciate students who would approach to tell me she is concerned about her grades and her school performance. i usually give extra works for her to make it up on class standing or major exams.
when things go wrong, i call my friends, just talking to them would make me feel better.

ahha… lilies and daisies… sorta stole my thunder. If you know you did poorly on the test… even though its done with, and even though you might not be able to improve your grade now… study for it again… take it again… get a better grade. Trust me, if you get into the mode you should have been in, in the first place… you’ll forget all about where you are now. And if you DO to better on the second test… you will have that success behind you!
Bright blessings ~ Richard

haha Rich! :P

nwansande, it might be the final decision but this is also a proper day for you to take some more ways on how u are going to pass it the next time u are going to retake the subject. know teacher’s requirements, know her style, which is she particular on: answering the manuals, class recitation or homeworks.

What Lily and I are trying to say is what Edison said so perfectly decades ago; “If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is often a step forward.”

Learn from what you did. And regarding my previous post… OK, so you can not retake the test for a better offical grade from the prof. and you are stuck on that. What’s to stop you from retaking the test for YOURSELF? Study for it now. and just retake it. You don’t get the test back? Make up your own. Your question was how do I get my mind off it… it being what you precieved as a failure. My suggestion is to change your preception… from failure to learning or success.

When I want to take my mind off of something, like every saturday, I drink single malt scotch whiskey. Works pretty good, but it all depends on your character.
