My boyfriend wants to get married, but he wants to move back to his home town.

I am a 3rd grade school teacher, and there are no good schools in his home town for me to teach at. I love this guy, but i love teaching too. Do i marry the dream guy, or do i keep the dream job?

Teaching is who i am and if i can’t teach, i wouldn’t be true to myself. I’m still not sure what to do. I want to marry him, but i want to stay true to myself. If i don’t marry him it would break my heart….. i just don’t know what to do

He has an amazing job and his father’s church is there. He wants to help the church! I have done some research of the area. The town doesn’t have much around (the closest walmart is 1 1/2 away) and schools are hard to come by. I know he will be able to support me, but i love teaching!! Teaching is my passion, but i love my man and want to marry him.

Would you consider the longer commute if there are other schools in other towns and such? And you could always teach a different grade if that’s where the opening is. Or even at the church. Good men are hard to come by, teaching opportunities aren’t nearly as rare.

yeah i have been thinking about that! we do have the same beliefs and starting a school would be amazing! there are a lot of children who need a good school to go to!! the schools there aren’t very good. teachers don’t care and the kids don’t want to learn. I think i will look into starting a school out of the church

Rather than making a binary decision, go for something fuzzy. Try to have both. He should not object to staying where you are unless you are teaching in some farm town in the middle of no where
