My uncle died suddently yesterday from a heart attack and my grandad has only got a few days to live.
I have known that my Grandad is dying for while but my uncle was a total shock. I am wondering how I am going to cope with all this?

I’m sorry to hear about all of this. I don’t have a good answer other than to say that you’ll be able to get through this. I lost my grandfather when I was young — I was actually there when he died — and it hurt like crazy for a while. But eventually the pain goes away, and life goes on, and now I just remember all of the great memories I have from when he was alive. The thing to keep in mind that death is a part of the natural rhythm of life, and the pain you’re going to feel is only temporary.
It must have been awful being there when he died. You’re definately right when you say its part of the natural rhythm of life.
Sincerest sympathies, Keano. There will be grief, but you may be surprised to find moments of joy in fond memories, too. You’re right, absolutely, it’s the natural rhythm of life.
Ill always remember my Grandads will to live, he has survived a heart attack, he has diabetes and lots of other illnesses. He recently had an amputation on his foot and I think it has just been two much for anyones body to take.
Wow! Maybe you shouldn’t count him out just yet.
No he’s going, unless a miricle occurs. Doctors have taken him off all his medication except for the diabetes and 1/2 others. He is basically being pumped with morphine to relieve the pain. Im glad though that he isnt going suffering much longer.
Ah, ok. Once the drip’s in, it’s last goodbye time. Are you planning on being in the room with him if there’s notice that he’s going?
That I dont know, at the moment my dad is with him, its his turn to stay the night so there will always be somone with him. He is waking very rarely at the moment and seems to be in some sort of semi-coma. I wonder if thats a good thing or a bad thing?
my hope is if someone dies they go without pain in peace.
Thats certainly the most important. It must be awful for a person to die in pain.
death comes to everyone i have thought about it alot from a young age, the one thing that scares me because i dont know for sure what it is. any other fears i have are tiny compared to it. a long life with little or no regret and siblings to carry on are the best anyone can hope for.
We will all have to face death eventually, we have to live everyday to the full as no one knows when they will actually go.
brain (anuyerism) pop just like that, but you cant live each day to the full because if you did that you would not go into work you would spend your time doing something that you find fun/relaxing/etc, unless you are one of the very lucky people who has a job they love.
Well oviously you should try to get a job that you would like, but everyone has to work, just enjoy your work. (Even though 95% of the time it is stressful, we still have to do it)
recently i had almost like an epiphany, it was my attitude about what i consider work and my attide towards it, now when i walk when i talk when i do things that i recognize as stresful i try to slow down (less haste more speed) something a weird looking tipp man said to me years and years ago, it finally made sense, so thats what i try to do doesnt always work but some have said they have noticed an improvement in me.
are you irish

your post asks how you are going to deal with your situation, well your profile says your irish so typicaly either you will either have a very hard time of it or you will supress your emotions both are bad so maybe there is a third way, one that lets you grieve enough so you can live the rest of your life remembering the good times you shared with your loved ones, be strong , if this didnt help i suggest you look up the situation in some poor war torn country where they have horrible stuff happening eveyday, and thank god that you live in this country.
just dont let your situation smother you, good luck
i hope some of what i said helped
Sorry about that i lost some that was like a uncle to me
and i am really sorry
