Regulars to Help.com - when you first came here, you came here in need, and now became part of a community.

And then a few months later, you felt it less necessary to have a daily interest … and then it slowly slipped away. ANd you don’t know how to thank help.com because its a group of people that you became part of and then not part of.

Remember awhile back people were discussing a good help.com “slogan”?

Well, here’s my contribution. “When You’re Desparate for Help - Help.com”. Its true. but it cuts both ways. When you dont feel so desparate, you may not feel so time-giving to help!!!!!! Or maybe I am a selfish person? Help me out here.

I don’t know … I haven’t been here that long, but for me it’s way more interesting to read other people’s posts than to post things myself.

It’s true. Help.com is like an old friend that I’m slowly losing touch with. I just never feel like posting anymore.

sasquatch: have you noticed how the problems start to “bleed” into each other, and soon you see there’s nothing at all unusual about almost everyone’s problems (within a certain range of problems that people can come to the net for advice)

my girlfriend this/boyfriend that/lonely/sad/my parents/etc.. its really hard to start giving personalized advice especially if the poster doesnt really make his problm specific and unique

Yeah, that’s true, rook. I still come here every day and read posts, but It’s has become very difficult to actually post any advice when it seems like i’ve seen the same questions over and over a thousand times. I’d like to help out more, but everything just blurs together.

I’ve been pretty consistent since my summer started except for the last week or so. It’s not that I don’t need help or don’t want to help but sometimes this website just takes so much out of me (time, effort, energy) and sometimes things dissolve into stupid arguments and that just drains me. So I can understand why sometimes people get tired of coming here regularly. I want to keep coming, but I’ve decided I won’t be so overzealous anymore for my own health :)

heh, same here. although my temperature can change. i should be used as a political attack dog. im xtra fierce. id probably work for either party to show how easily manipulable people are. i can’t believe dems are debating about anyone other than obama. the dude is solid gold. he has 10% of all repubs voting for him (can we say “swing leader”) if their primary guy doesnt go to november.
oops. forgot what post we were on (when you type to music… things just drift away)
