your thinking about it too hard.. I don’t know, but speaking from my personal experience whenever I approach a girl (I mean Woman) to ask her out I always treat it has a joke. If you treat it like a joke you’ll reduce ur chance of looking nervous or even worse stuttering.. It took me a while to be able to do this though so for you I suggest making it into a game. My personal game i used to use was (this might sound a bit homophobe but it is not, I respect homosexual people..) I would force myself to nerve up to talking to a girl before the school ended and if i didnt do it I would call myself a homosexual.. Well that pretty much worked for me and got me talking to girls all the time.. If a girl says no to me and trust quite a few do, I just play it off like saying “Okay I see how it is, u can’t even give me ur number..” and if she does give u a # dont call cuz she already said no.. o yea one more thing.. Respect the answer no! It freaks th hell outta people when others cant accept the answer no..

All dates should start at dinners, going to the park or walking the mall. Someone that allows you both to talk to each other and this huge step forward. once that awkward moment passes then ur good to go..
