guy help: Hello. - Help.com

Hello.

all computer geeks! we need help! In a effort to make room on C drive we started moving archival folders to D drive. Low and behold we can’t open XML files of Windows Live Messenger conversations even when we move them back to Cdrive where we found them. Any answers? Thanks, guys!

Do you have MessageLog.xsl in My Documents/My Received Files/(ID+hash)/History?

Oster, we figured it our with the path you sent us. how would you store a lot of XML conversation on D and still be able to open the XML files? Thanks, friend.

Last I heard, we can’t change the directory path to a different drive, but MS is “working on it”. I’m poking around to see there’s an update, workaround or fix.

Would you check you tools> options> messages and see if there is a “Save my conversations in this folder” option?

xml files are opened with Microsoft’s programs all you have to do is reinstall them so that it can reset the correct paths to your files.

Compman, Is there a way to store the files in D and still be able to access them through the program files?
Thank you, candp

Doesn’t make sense that you have trouble only on help.com. We will bring this up to the admins. maybe they can come up with an answer.
