is there such a thing as being compulsivly indecisive?

i’ve always had trouble making decisions but it seems like now more than ever. but not only do i have problems making big decisions, its the small stuff that really worries me…trying to decide whether or not to go to the gym can send me to tears because i dont know which would be a better choic. ive tried making pro-con lists but nothing seems to help, i just get more confused. if anyone knows if i could have a problem or if i just need to start making decisions without thinking….Thanks!

Yes, no, sometimes, maybe.

Ok, sorry.

I agree with sam that it might have to do with stress. Are you facing a lot of stress right now?

Yes there is! Its actually called “indecision.” Like any other compulsion there are ways to counsel this so that you can live around it. I have a friend who is this way. He couldn’t make a decision if his life depended on it some days!

Most of the time it seems to stem from a fear of making the wrong decision. If this is causing a lot of trouble in your life, I would recommend seeing a doctor. They can help you to learn ways to get around it.. and to know its ok to make decisions!
