Does your computer have an automatic recovery program? You can find out by turning it off. Then restart it. If a message comes up to press one of the F buttons to start recovery, you can let it self repair.

After turning my computer on, after the initail start up a message comes up that says “press F11 to start recovery” this comes up in the right top corner. Start your computer and wait to see if it happens on yours.

Have a look at this link, it’s a bit long but read it http://www.user-guides.co.uk/asp/prod…
then get back to me when you can, and tell me if the download version would be suitable. You will see that there is a box to print you version of your vaio into.

I have a vaio (VGN-N11S), find out if the same disk is compatible from vaios’ website or helpline if it’s not ask them to mail you one otherwise i can copy it and send it to you but in all fairness I live in Ireland it would probably be faster for you to order from sony vaio. Also I’m not at home right now so I can’t say for sure that I know where it is or how long it will take me to find it.

I have been doing some research on sony vaio all models.

You might be interested to know that many vaio owners are having the same problem as you. Here is a link to one of the forums I visited http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/conte…

If you can let me know how to help you to get hold of the disk you need. Give me a shout or post here. Other than coppying it, that is.

I’m sorry to hear you are having problems with your computer Lynn. Have you tried the Sony tech support? Here is the link.

Hopefully you can get some help there.
