Mary Higgins Clark…I’m 13 and I read them, but it depends how mature this 14 year old is…I am a bit mature for my age, but Harry Potters are good books too….

I am actually thirteen years old and I have read some really good books. You shoud try some of the series by Lurlene McDaniels. They are really good books about girls that have illnesses like cancer or brain tumors. Or you can try reading this one book I read. It’s called Things Not Seen or something like that. It might sound really wweird, but it’s about this boy who uses an electric blanket one night and it messes with his DNA and he becomes “invisible” and he is trying to keep it a secret so that the FBI and scientists and stuff won’t try to do expeiriments on him. Then his parents get in a car wreck and he has to stay home alone since they are in the hospital…There’s more to it but I don’t want to tell you too much. You can also try the Little House On the Prairie books by Laura Ignalls. Or…You can try Nancy Drew a teenage detective. Or you can try reading this series that I read one time about these kids who are “third borns” in a country who’s only allowed to have two kids and they have to be hidden or the FBI will kill the child. I can’t necissarily remember the name of the book but the name of the series is called “shadow children” and if you type it in the search engine, you can find it. Well, that’s all I can think of right now. I hope this helps!!

I like vollyball’s suggestions! I remember when I was 13 and 14 I seemed to like mystery, horror, books about people who were able to overcome something, books about other teenage girls and how they would deal with situations. This was back in the early 1980s. I went for Judy Blume, Sweet Valley High and just about anything that looked dark and mysterious. I also liked funny books if I could find my sense of humor at that age.
