Everything was going so well, now it all seems to have gone to crap again.

So, everything seemed to be going the right way, work was working out, I bought some new furniture awaiting the arrival of my boyfriend, my car was working well…I couldn’t be happier, things were going my way. Then this morning I wake up to a broken in car, a stolen stereo, and a stole laptop (which was issued to me from work)I couldn’t believe it, I’m still in shock, I don’t want to do anything, I’m paranoid, I feel like maybe someones watching me, this is the second time it’s happened in my complex…I know it was dumb of me leaving my laptop in the car, I should have taken it into the house with me, but I was moving furniture, I wasn’t thinking, it was late and now I have to suffer the consequences. I’m just overwhelmed, I don’t want to deal with any of this ******** anymore.

I’m not looking for validation, I’m not looking for explanations, I just don’t want to deal. I just want to vent a bit before I try pick up the pieces and carry on. I think most people on this site are a little crazy,I’d like to think myself well adjusted, this isn’t the worst day of my life, I wasn’t harmed in the process, but hell, what does a person have to do in life to just get by, be left alone, and be able to live their life without someone always trying to screw you over?

It’s all so frustrating and could happen to anyone, it’s part of the drawback of living in Maryland and so close to DC.

PLEASE NO RELIGIOUS RESPONSES I AM NOT INTERESTED IN CONVERTING SO PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER POST AND NOT THIS ONE IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO SPREAD YOUR RELIGION.

You just helped me I was in that poor me mode until you made me realize it just doesn’t happen to just me! Thanks, I hope it works out for you.

Well, my friend came over brought me military pepper spray and looked at my car…she found someone had pulled the window off it’s track and pried my window open…

Well at least my car still runs…even with the odd wires hanging out of my center console.

I think that is just crazy. Today people are becoming even more bold to do things to other people. It is amazing how things happen and the reasons therefore. Like you said, you just don’t want to deal, not sure if that is a good option, but from this point what can you do? The only thing is to continue to live and learn which we all do everyday and realize everyone is not nice and most of all everyone could care less how hard you work and they have to take what you work so hard for. Hmm I am truly sorry girl, but keep your head high and smile it will get better.

I know what you mean times. Heck just the other day I was buying some groceries and the cashier had them bagged and i was getting my change. So then this moron putting his wife’s bags in his buggy puts mine in his buggy also without even looking at what he’s grabbing. I was like dude wtf? He’s like oh… I’m sorry. You dang right your sorry i paid $18 for that one bag in your buggy and you just tried to mosey on outta here like its yours. He was getting outta there pretty fast so I had to wonder whether or not he knew what he was doing or not. I tell ya times, stuff like that pisses me off.

Condominiums, Apatments, Complexes are all great places for drug addicts to break in vehicles while everyone is fast asleep.

I am sorry you had a ****** morning! ~frowns~

RAWR.

Yeah things just seem to be going down the tube and quickly. I remember a time where you didn’t have to worry so much about the people around you. There wasn’t the paranoia of your neighbors robbing you blind in the middle of the night.

It makes me so angry.

To top things off, my boyfriend’s brother was robbed last night, they stole his whole toolkit. So about $2000 of work tools…gone. They’re live in a relatively quiet town, it’s heinous…I MISS THE OLD DAYS!!!

Oh, I found my hood popped, and power strange leads coming off my center console, I figured out what it was, and I’m relieved it wasn’t someone trying to steal my car…just the power/lights to the air handling part of my car (where it says A/C, Heat, fan, etc.) it’s not real good news, just better than someone trying to run off with my killur car Christine.

Aye, when I was a kid the entire community knew every neighbor, and if a shady neighbor moved in they would run them out ~smiles~. Back when the village actually helped raise a child.

Nowadays people don’t even want to know who their neighbors are which is part of the problem with crime being so ramapant today ~frowns~

Crystal Meth can be attributed to the majority of midnight crimes. That stuff is pure concentrated evil. I wish there was a way to get rid of it then crime would take a day off in that respect ~smiles~.

Most neighborhoods have some kind of meetings somewhere…give involved the more poeple involved in neighborhood communities and block watch programs..the better ~smiles~.

I tried being aware/friends with my neighbors but people don’t want to be bothered, or are ok with it, if they can hit on me. Which is a situation I don’t want to be in.

In the meantime, I have a friend who’s in need of a place to stay, and is going to give me a little money for my ‘inconvenience’ of having a house guest.

Honestly, it’s great, and helps me feel a bit safer, with the gas money to go pick up my boyfriend and apply money towards replacing the stereo that was ripped out of my car.

Life is life..is…life.

It was really shocking but I’ve adjusted…I feel better…

Insurance won’t replace it, but I’ve replaced it…and as for the laptop, work wasn’t too too horribly angry, which means it’s a HUGE relief.

I’m sorry to hear this, I understand your frustration. The worst is that there is not muchy to do about it. One thing could be to make believe that the car will be booby-trapped in the future. I guess it’s not illegal to just make believe.
If nothing else, your neighbors will at least keep their kids away from your car.

Many years ago, one French guy was so tired of all break-ins into his summer house. It was built from concrete, during off-season he had steel doors, steel window shutters, a high fence and whatever, and still got burglars.
So he played them a little joke, putting a fancy-looking radio in a cupboard. But the radio was just a shell, filled with hand grenades and an igniter…

So, the next burglar was very surprised, least to say! I’m pretty sure that he didn’t do it again (or anything else, for that matter). And the house was terribly expensive to wash!

It was discussed in France for a long time, dividing in two opinions about how far one may go to protect property.

Yes, that’s what I mean.
I get frustrated and make plans about real mean devices. It’s easily done.
But then I remember that kids are not very responsible - what if my own kid would do something like that? I would want him to pay and learn, but not to be blown into pieces.

So emphaty kills the beast in me, and then I’m stuck with the frustration.

But actually, a booby-trap could also be a tracking device. They are really cheap now.
It would be nice if the insurance company associations placed a lot of baits around, so a criminal never could know if he was just playing somebody else’s game…
