i cashed a cheque for this guy and he Bounched it on me and admited to it i did the fallowing to get my money back

1) i tried to get the money back from the guy (didn’t help)
2) phoned the police (they wouldn’t help)
3) went to the bank to get the cheque certified (wouldn’t do it)

i am running out of options any other idea’s

After working in a bank for 7 years I will tell you this. When you signed your name to the back of that check, you were signing it…basically saying that you were taking responsibility for it. You could try maybe a civil court but depending on the amount of the check, that is a call you are going to have to make. In the future if you are taking checks as payment from someone, the best way to get your money and not be scammed is to take that check directly to the bank that it is drawn off of and get your money that way. Leaving your personal account out of the entire transaction.

i went to the bank and they wouldn’t cash it because they said there wasn’t any money in the account so i have to wait and try to get the cheque certified
