There isn’t any global peace, its just that there aren’t any wars in technologically develloped countries. And I don’t think it is information technology that keeps the wars away.

Well IT has helped in the reporting of global events, and this may have helped to stop some attrocities from happening before they got too out of hand. But I can’t really think of any successful examples.

But I have to agree with gimli, what global peace are we talking about? There is suffering and murder/genocide happening on a massive scale throughout the world in many cases it is just unreported (Congo for example where 1200 people die every day) Half of them are children (as if that matters - but people for some reason tend to think of women and children as somehow special cases - something I don’t subscribe to).
