My AOL Toolbar Carousel disappeared and was replaced by generic.
Anyone know how to restore previous? I have lost serious contact info. This is second time in two years

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Are you looking for answers about problems with your AOL service?
I’d like to recommend that you ask AOL directly since they are best suited to help you.
For AOL support, you can visit the AOL support site or even call them at an AOL toll free number.

go to http://discover.aol.com/downloads/ and reinstall aol again with the latest versions.
Please help me find MY AOL carousel, which was on a DELL 2650 inspiron, which DELL broke. I now have a Toshiba XP Satellite Pro. How can I get my AOL 9.1 back? And all the other things I had saved, address book, carousel icons, etc;?
I have been with AOL six(6) years account i> small>(email removed) /small> /i>, when you told me to switch to Bellsouth/AT&T, I did , and lost all technical support from you, without being notified. That is NO way to treat a loyal customer. Please don’t make me get rid of AOL and start anew with a different e-mail. Contact me at i> small>(email removed) /small> /i> ASAP.
Thanks,
Diane Siegel
Please go to http://daol.aol.com/software/90vr and download the best application software AOL has supported. You Need to uninstall any other versions left from “add remove programs” first.
The same thing happens to me quite often. At least once every few weeks. Since I’m not a paying AOL member, they won’t get me any tech support. It’s so frustrating though. All of the sudden the whole top disappears and I’m left with only the top strip with file, edit, mail, community, etc.
My entire aol disappeared this Saturday. It will not let me sign in. If my account has been deactivated please explain why.
Please go to http://daol.aol.com/software/90vr and download the best application software AOL has supported.
My toolbar customization disappears too. Very frustrating. Now that AOL doesn’t collect $23.95 per month for membership, they also refuse to even accept a notification of web problems. They have just turned their back on us. I am with AOL since 1998. Sheesh!
my aol toolbar that I had all setup with my programs disappeared, how do I get it back?? My ISP is AT&T Yahoo. thanks, Larry
Please go to http://daol.aol.com/software/90vr and download the best application software AOL has supported. …
can someone tell me how to get my carosel toolbar back!!! it is so frustrating. I am the only account that is missing it.
amazing that nobody has actually solved the problem, happened to me yesterday, but the favourites list is still there, just rebuild the toolbar, won’t take too long, also, keep an address book with things written down then put them in again if they disappear. Store them on your computer and copy and paste them.
i don’t have the favorites on my screen. All I have is a blue bar that says file, edit, mail, community, services, etc. I have tried to rebuild, but I guess I am not doing it right. I have not found a way to fix the problem, so I just use internet explorer.
Regardless of whether you can or cannot easily replace the data, it is INEXCUSABLE that AOL permits this level of software failure.
i completely agree. it shows that aol does not care about its customers. i don’t even have a mail or back button. i would never recommend aol to anyone after this.
alright, finally got this figured out. I had to completely uninstall aol from my computer, then download the new aol 9.5 version. there was a lot of restarting my computer in the process, but the carousel is back. what a pain in the rear. ridiculous.
Peachfus, Have you had any new problems since downloading 9.5?
My carousel keeps disappearing too, and a continual “570 User ID” error.
nope- haven’t had a problem on the new aol 9.5 -yet!!!! the toolbar stays put!
Have one computer here with aol 9.5 and all my personally added items to the carousel disappear occasionally. The aol boiler plate items do not disappear. Think it is a bug in the whole 9.x series. A real pain, and have found no explanation for it.
I was using AOL 9.1 when my toolbar disappeared. Called Aol and they told me to go back to using 9.0. That worked for me. But……what kind of way is that to SOLVE a problem!!!
been with aol since 95, service is poor i too have lost my bar, favorites ,cant seem to re-install it service slower than melting ice on my tin roof here in fla. about to give up on them
coowboy//////////
I have lost my carosal toolbar also. Tried redownloading 9.1. Still didnot come back. If I uninstall aol, will I lose all my information (email addresses etc)?
Going back to 9.0 solves the disappearing carousel problem, but AOL then automatically updates it to 9.1 and you’re stuck with the same problem again. I’ve tried to prevent it from updating, but that just makes AOL slower than it already is. I’m stuck with dial-up here in the boondocks, but the nanosecond broad band comes through, AOL is history. There’s no excuse for not fixing this bug. How much effort could it possibly take on AOL’s part — probably a micropercentage of the time its spends listening to people complain about it.
Same thing….no old toolbar…I need it back. Get live AOL help. Which was NO HELP. Went through all these long, drawn out steps….for nothing. Waste of time. Never got my old toolbar. I was told I need to buy Video Professor!!! No Thanks. I have been ripped off by that A Hole already!!!!!!! GOD, I guess it is time to leave AOL.

I’m still paying for membership and they have ignored my question about why my toolbar disappears when I log on to AOL (if I work logged off, the toolbar stays and works fine). Why should we pay for service we don’t get?
quick fix that i’ve found works for me… when all i can see is the blue bar with (file - edit - mail - community - etc etc) i just go to switch screen name… then double click on my current name it will just reload aol and the whole toolbar is there…. so far this has worked for me everytime… (knock on wood)… not sure why but even if i close aol it doesn’t bring back the whole toolbar… only when i switch names….
hope this helps
I did what fidalma7 did. It brought back the bar, but i lost all customized settings. this stinks
To fidalma7…….your poposed fx was very encouraging to me. However CEW100 says it came back but without the CUSTOMIZED (Favorites) in the toolbar
Does your Fix restore the Customized settings. If not the it’s not the fix I am looking for. I don’t lose the carousel Toolbar, Just the personalized settings.
Anybody have a “True” Fix, please email me @ i> small>(email removed) /small> /i>
Thanks Much

Anybody with a “True” Fix? One that restores the “Customized” favorites?
