Are you looking for answers about problems with your AOL service?

I’d like to recommend that you ask AOL directly since they are best suited to help you.

For AOL support, you can visit the AOL support site or even call them at an AOL toll free number.

I keep getting that error message too. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AOL 9.1 several time - with AOL assistance. When it never worked - they blew it off and blamed the missing dll on the computer - telling me to contact the manufacturer. BS! Anyway, has anyone solved this problem yet?

I have aol 9.1
I’ve had it for exactly 1 day.

My error:

aol.suiteFramework.aol.systrayservice~3339045019: aolsoftware.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because tai2.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

My probable cause answer is that the task bar’s aol tray icon did not get a piece of information because I decided not to install/choose Aol search, Aol aim, Aol desktop, Making Aol search the default search engine, ect. I manually eliminated certain things from happening.

This problem is probably nothing and the tray icon is annoying as hell anyways so just don’t bother worrying that it might be a virus.

this is how i fixed my problem.

copy tai2.dll
from
c:\program files\common files\aol\topspeed\3.0
to
c:\program files\common files\aol\xxxxxxxxxx\ee
(xxxxxxxxxx stands for name of folder , in my case, it’s 1127937279)
