What makes you happy ?

and can you make someone happy ?
because conventional wisdom have said that happiness lies with one self and no one can make you happy and genuine happiness is a state of contentment, a peace of mind
and sense of well being regardless of outward circumstances going on in your life is it true ? need help!

Yes Lil, happiness comes from the small things in life…everyday, one day at a time, and learning to forgive ourselves…or, simply put, not taking ourselves very serious…

This is so true. thats why im not happy because i am not happy with my self but i did change my attitude and you word believe how much better i am. I forget what “makes” me happy, like material things or hobbies, etc. because i let myself go so long and any “thing” i tried to do for joy didnt give me any happines, but once i started changing my attitude i am starting to get happier little by little. and when you feel so hopeless and become so negative you dont see happiness as ever possible, but it is!

The greatest joy in life comes from loving your fellowman. That is done by small steps, not great leaps….the little things is what counts…..the things that usually go un-noticed…a caring smile…a gentle word of encouragement….

you cant “make” anyone happy. the most you can do is be supportive if they are down and going through something but they have to want to get more positive and help themselves

Everyone is responsible for their own happiness….No person was put here to make you happy. People that looking for money, a spouse, a big job etc. to make them happy when NEVER FIND IT…

I am a happy person. What makes me happy? Well, I used to be a very sad and painfilled person and I got tired of it. I learned it was a choice. I needed to focus on the good things . . . like glitter and babies and 3 year olds playing with glitter and the smell of jergens lotion - original scent and the fact I can hear and see and smell . . . and you know what really makes me happy???

Knowing the rivers keep flowing . . .even though I am not there to see it and the waves of the ocean continue to roll ashore . . . and all those people in Hong Kong . . well they are still there in Hong Kong and there are people climbing up to the big buddah statue every day . . . knowing all that, well, it gives me comfort and peace and makes me feel happy.

You can distract your friend, you can help by planting seeds of how to find peace within him or herself. You can express compassion and love . . it helps. Pranks?? well . . . depends on the person. Cross that territory carefully it could backfire.
