Has any one ever filed Bankruptcy?

I am wondering if after the limited time a bankruptcy is susposed to be on your credit report will it then be permenetly romved? I have heard to many different stories about assumptions people thought but I need to know for sure 100% the real deal so if you have previously in the past filed bankruptcy and know the question to my answer please fill me in thanx

I filed in 1991 as the result of a divorce (my ex filed which sort of forced my hand).

It took 10 years to leav emy credit report, but head up. I was still able to buy a house in 2000…the bankrupcy laws are much harder now, so I am not sure what has changed.

I came so close to doing that. But, I changed my mind on doing that as this will effect me for 10 years or so. So, I decided to just tell myself to leave it alone until I have a very good job to pay them off slowly.

I’m going to file chapter 7 soon. Business went under. It stays on your record but you can get credit cards and loans (just maybe higher interest). Look at having relatives cosign until you get it off your record or possibly setting up a corporation and using it’s credit to get stuff (have to build it up though).
