boyfriend help: My boyfriend and I broke up, but his sister who lives out of town wants to hang out with me this weekend..would that be a bad idea? - Help.com

I can’t imagine any reason why it would be a bad idea.
It you want to hang out with her and enjoy her company, then you should.

Well we’ve only hung out a few times because she lives out of town and him and i just recently broke up.He wants his space type thing i dont want him to think im just trying to find a way to get close to him again u know? Would be it be stupid to ask him about it or anything?

Again, you shouldn’t need to ask him about it. It was she who offered to hang out….why would you have to seek anyone’s approval except your own?

True, well the way she put it was I’ll be in town hopefully I’ll see cuz my brothers so boring, and i said yeah that would be fun you should come out one night, does that change anything/

You simply agreed to her pseudo-suggestion that you and her should hang out. Clearly, you are more familiar and intimate with the situation than I, however, and if you feel that this is something your should really notify your ex about, then please do.
I was simply looking at it from the perspective that your ex and your ex’s sister are mutually exclusive and, just as you wouldn’t necessarily inform him that you are going to hang out with another person who you may not know very well, you shouldn’t have to inform him that you, may or may not, hang out with his sister.
Seems unnecessary. But, I trust that you know best given that it’s your situation.
