I have a number of stamps with the american flag on them but no price.

I believe I purchased them when stamps were $0.39 and, since the stamps say first class on them, I was under the impression that they would still be valid when the price of stamps increased (because they are first class). However, I recently attempted to send out some bills with these stamps and they were returned for insufficient postage. How do I figure out what is the value of these stamps?

I also recently purchased new “first-class forever” stamps which were advertised as surviving future price increases. Why are these stamps different?

Mybe they made the ewones with forerever prices so you don’t have to worry about getting more. If you bought them when the price was $.39 then you prolly just need a $.02 stamp? You could ask your post office too.

Do they look like this? Then you need to ad $.02

The new forever stamp, that will forever be worth the current cost of first class postage.

No problem, I know locally my post office has a kiosk that you can walk up (even after post office hours) and buy $0.02 stamps from a vending machine. Maybe you do too?

Normal working American = I work during office hours. Call them during lunch, I have to do that with most things I want to do.

I bought those same first class forever stamps with the flag on it that was first posted on this thread. I paid 41 cents, but they told me they would be good forever as first class stamps, regardless of price increases. Did they renig, or did my local p.o. make a mistake?

I’m gurry about it — some bill payments came back, others have gone through…

I’m sure your stamps are worth 41 cents. I bought several sheets of these, beige with American flag, no price amount, and they say first class. I took them into the Post Office and determined their values was 41, and they sold me sheets of 2 cents stamps
(this was before the recent hike from 42- 44) to bring them up to current use. Also, there is picture of this stamp on ebay and it is labeled 41 cents us flag stamps…so now you gotta partner them with 2 cents stamps and you’re good go to.

USPS told me that the flag stamp was a “forever” stamp, but they lied.
